Week 21 - Sat 12th March 2005 - Knox Championship Day

Congratulations to U/12 Daragh Moore who broke two Girls U/12 club records, both in the Hurdles. In the 60m Hurdles, Daragh ran 11.36 sec and in the 200m Hurdles her record time was 37.89 sec.  Excellent effort!

Today was our best medal tally in recent years! 5 Gold, 3 Silver and 11 Bronze Medals were won.

Congratulations to Shanlan Moore who broke her own Girls U/13 70m Club Record with a time of 11.48 sec, previous record was 11.53 sec.  Excellent effort!

Congratulations also to U/10 Briony Walton who has reached her Silver Medal PB Status and U/10 Clare Egan who has reached her Bronze Medal PB Status.  Well done girls!

It was a big night for PB's this week! Personal Best effort today was by U/9 Connor Bishop with 4 PB's!

Week 19 - Sat 26th February 2005

Shanlan Moore broke her own Girls U/13 70m Club Record with a time of 11.48 sec, previous record was 11.53 sec. Her sister Daragh Moore broke a 10 year old Club Record in the U/12 60m Hurdles Girls Club with a time of 11.50 sec, previously 11.97 seconds.  Excellent effort girls!

Congratulations to U/10 Matija Pecek who is the first to reached the Gold PB Medal Status. U/13 Josh Holdway has reached his Silver Medal PB Status. U/7 Zac Thomas, U/10 Laura Clissold and U/11 Sam Kenny have reached their Bronze Medal PB Status.  Well done to all!

Twilight Sports Night - Bayswater South Primary School - Fri 25th February 2005

Some of our athletes competed at their Primary School Sports night at the East Burwood Athletic Track doing very well in the placings. The winners were:

Eastern Metropolitan Regional Championships  - Knox Park - 12 & 13 February 2005

The Regional Championships for U/9 to U/15 are for all the Athletic Centres with in the Eastern Suburbs from as far as Collingwood, up to Doncaster, and back through to Yarra Ranges. They compete to be eligible to compete at the Victorian Little Athletics Championship held next month against the best from the rest of Victoria.

Congratulations to U/12 Daragh Moore who won a Silver Medal in the High Jump and U/10 Matija Pecek who won a Bronze Medal in the Triple Jump. A Fantastic effort! 

Daragh Moore qualified in the High Jump and Josh Holdway progressed in the Shot Put for for the Knox Centre in the Victorian Little Athletics Championships being held at Olympic Park on 19/20 March 2005. Bayswater Bullets wish them all the best in the competition against the State's best!

U/7 Annie Egan competed at the U/6 to U/8's Southern Metropolitan Little Athletics Open Day on Sunday, 13th February 2005 at the Springvale Little Athletics Centre. They ran a fun day for the kids and a great showbag was given out at the end of the day.

Congratulations to U/13 Josh Holdway who  reached his PB Bronze Medal Status.

Week 16 - Sat  5th February 2005

Congratulations to U/7 Jack Butcher who was the first boy to reach his PB Bronze Medal Status, then followed by U/10 Matija Pecek also with 20 PB's! Only 5 more PB's to reach Silver status. Congratulations also go to U/12 Daragh Moore who also reached her PB Bronze medal status as well.

Another Club Record was broken today by U/13 Shanlan Moore in the 70m sprint with a time of 9.51 sec, the previous record was 12.04 sec. An excellent effort!

Week 15 - Sat  29th January 2005 - Knox Twilight Open Day

This was a special event where athletes from other Centres are invited to compete against the Knox Athletes. It was a big day/night with Athletes from 37 different Centres competing.  Medals were presented to the first 3 placegetters and Ribbons for 4th to 8th place.

The Bayswater Bullets athletes did very well at this year's Open Day with many medal winners and PB's obtained. A great effort considering there were no club medal winners in last years Knox Twilight Open Day.

Congratulations to U/7 Erin Holdway, the first person to reach PB Bronze Medal Status! Well Done! Erin Holdway and U/10 Briony Walton had the best PB Efforts today with 3PB's.

U/13 Josh Holdway competed at the Chelsea Little Athletics Centre Open Day on Sunday, 16th January. Josh won a Gold Medal in the Shot Put, a Silver in the 400m, a Bronze Medal in the Triple Jump and 4th in the Discus.  His sister U/7 Erin Holdway also competed winning four ribbons with a 4th in both Shot Put and Discus, 5th in the Long Jump and 8th in the 70m

U/7 Annie Egan competed at the Southern Peninsula Little Athletics Centre Open Day on Sunday, 9th January. Annie won her first medal ever with a Bronze in the 200m and came 4th in the 100m and Long Jump. Her sister U/10 Clare also competed doing better than her current times and distances.

Melbourne 2005 - 20th Deaflympic Games

	Elite athletes from 101 countries took part in the 20th Summer Deaflympics Games held here in Melbourne from 5th -16th January 2005, under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. These are the second oldest multi-sport and cultural festival in the world. The Deaflympics games are held every four years that began in Paris in 1924. U/7 Alexander Barton-Smith's father Dean represented Australia at these games and was honoured by being selected as the Australian Team Captain. This was a comeback after 10 years of retirement from International Sport.  Dean is an Olympian representing Australia in the1992 Barcelona Olympics in his specialist event -  the Decathlon; regarded as a first for a Deaf person in Australia. He also represented Australia in the 1990 Auckland  and the 1994 Victoria (Canada) Commonwealth Games in the Decathlon.   Dean has also competed in the 1985 Los Angeles, 1989 Christchurch and 1993 Bulgaria Deaflympics, winning 3 Gold Medals. He currently holds the World Deaf Record for the Javelin and Decathlon, which still stands since 1989.  Dean's comeback had been sensational. He won Australia's first medal with a Silver in the Shot Put, and with much publicity in the media. He also had a very commendable 4th place in the Discus and finished the games with another Silver Medal in the Javelin. The Bayswater Bullets Little Athletics Club congratulates Dean on a very successful games which he did Australia proud!

Week 12 - Sat  18th December 2004    Multi-Event Day

The Multi Event is a competition which tests athlete’s all round skills with points allocated depending on their level of performance in a set range of events. The winner of the Multi Event is the athlete with the highest total point score after all events.

This event places a stronger emphasis on the participation of children in a wider range of events rather than the specialisation in one or two specific events. Congratulations to Daragh Moore breaking her club record in the 200m Hurdles with a time of 38.71 sec, previous record 42.03 sec. Daragh also just missed out on another club record in the High Jump, missing out just by 1cm with a jump of 1.41m, a Personal Best.

U/7 Annie Egan competed at the Waverley Little Athletics Centre Open Day on Sunday, 21st November. She came 5th in the 70m, 300m and Long Jump to finish 5th overall for the Multi- Event

Week 7 - Fri  12th November 2004

Best PB Effort this week was by U/13 Josh Holdway with 3 PB's. Welcome to the Club new athlete U/13 Trent Bryant.

U/10 Clare Egan came 6th out of 23 runners in the 8 to 12 year old age group in the Knox Park Primary School 1.9Km Fun Run on Sunday 14th November with a time of 13min 03 sec.

Week 6 - Sat 6th November 2004 - Cancelled

Rain! It was non stop since Melbourne Cup Tuesday! The meet was cancelled due to the wet weather and still didn't let up by the 8:30am start time as can be seen by the photos below.

A quiet Saturday morning being the Melbourne Cup long weekend. Best effort was by U/11 Sam Kenny with 3 PB's. Our Under 7 Boys and Girls are doing very well obtaining their PB's so far this season.

Week 4 - Fri 22nd October 2004

A great night with many PB's obtained by our athletes. Best PB efforts were U/7 Annie Egan, her sister U/10 Clare Egan and U/9 Todd Kenny all with 3 PB's.

Week 3 - Sat 16th October 2004

Welcome to two new athletes to our club. U/10 Karli Korbay and U/11 Marrisa Hummel.

Congratulations to U/12 Daragh Moore who went to the VPSSA and came 5th in the hurdles. In the High Jump, Daragh came 2nd with a jump of 1.37m beating her previous best of 1.26m which earned her a spot in the State Championships to be held in Bendigo. Her older sister Ex Bayswater Bullets athlete Brydee went to the VSSSA regions and broke a record in Shotput which then qualified her for the finals at Bendigo which she won again! Well Done! 

Under 12 Daragh Moore broke the club record for the 200m Hurdles with a time of 42.03. The record was previously held by her older sister Shanlan.
