CONSTITUTION 

OF

BAYSWATER LITTLE ATHLETICS

 

1   NAME OF CLUB

1.1 The club shall be known as the Bayswater Bullets, of the Knox Little   Athletics Centre

 

2   OBJECTS OF THE CLUB

2.1  To abide by the Centre Constitution, the Statement of Purpose and Regulations and any subsequent amendments

2.2  To register all competitive members in accordance with the Centre Registration Regulation

2.3  To provide athletic competition for competitive members who are registered through the club

2.4  To ensure that all prizes, trophies or inducements to competitive members do not contravene the Knox Centre constitution

2.5  To ensure the continuity of the athletic competition for children from under 7 through to the age of 15

2.6  To promote the ideal of children competing for personal satisfaction through improved performances

2.7  To promote little athletics in the community

 

3   THE POWERS OF THE CLUB SHALL BE:

3.1  To suspend, disqualify fine or otherwise deal with a member of the club, who has committed any breach of the constitution, which in the opinion of the Centre is becoming or contrary to the interest of Little Athletics

3.2  To appoint Delegates according to the Constitution of the Centre

3.3  To act alone or together with other clubs in the interest the Bayswater Club

3.4  To impose and collect subscriptions, fees, and other charges from members

3.5  Have authority to organise fund raising using the name of the Bayswater Little Athletic Club

 

4   MANAGEMENT

4.1  The management of the club shall be vested in an elected Committee of not less than six adults

 

5    COMMITTEE

5.1  The Club shall be administered by an elected Committee

5.2  No person shall hold more than one position on the Committee

5.3  The Committee shall be made up of a President, Treasurer, Secretary and at least two other members

 

6    ELECTION OF COMMITTEE

6.1   The Committee shall be elected at the Clubs Annual General Meeting

6.2  When more than one nomination is received for a Committee position, the persons nominated will leave the meeting while a vote is carried out

 

7    POWERS OF THE COMMITTEE

The Committee, having regard to this constitution and to the Constitution and regulations of the Centre

7.1  Plan and implement the athletic and relative activities of the club in the best interest of Little Athletics

7.2  Act on behalf of the club in all matters pertaining to the conduct of it

7.3  Appoint sub-committees if required

7.4  Register boys and girls in accordance with the constitution of the Centre

7.5  To administer the financial affairs of the Centre through the Treasurer

7.6  Meet on occasions deemed necessary by the Committee at a time and place to be decided by the Committee

7.7  Take action on behalf of the Club after a majority of the members have voted in favour of the action

7.8  Members will be disqualified from their position on the Council if they miss two consecutive meetings without submitting an apology

 

8    COMMITTEE MEETINGS

8.1  For the Committee meeting to be valid, at least one more than half the Committee members must be present

8.2  Committee meetings shall be called on at least one occasion each year, and on any additional occasions as required by the Committee

8.3  Attendance at Committee Meetings shall be open to any person associated with the Club

 

9    REVIEW OF MANAGEMENT

9.1 The Committee shall present for review and endorsement or otherwise, reports on actions implemented and/or planned on behalf of the Club to Committee Meetings

 

10    MINUTES OF MEETINGS

10.1  Copies of the minutes of the Committee Meetings shall be distributed to members of the Committee

 

11    ANNUAL MEETING

11.1  The Annual Meeting of the Centre shall be organised by the Committee at a time best suited to the Club's method of operation, and in a manner best suited to entertain Centre members, friends

 

12    ANNUAL REPORT

12.1  The Committee shall present the Annual Report and Balance Sheet of the Club to the Annual General Meeting

 

13    AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION

13.1  Committee Members only shall vote on Club Constitution changes and for the adoption of such constitution change a two third majority of all Committee must be obtained

 

14    ASSETS

14.1  The assets of the Club, income or property shall not be given or transferred in any way to any member of the Club. Assets if disposed of, must be sold to the highest bidder

 

15    FINANCE

15.1  The Committee shall appoint each year an Auditor who shall be appointed to audit all accounts of the Club. A report will be tabled at the Annual General Meeting. The Auditor shall be recognised Accountant or person qualified in business practice and not a member of the Committee

 

16    DUTIES OF THE TREASURER

The Treasurer shall:

16.1  Keep proper books of accounts of all transactions (including receipts of payments) made to the Club

16.2  These books must be made available to any member within 14 days of a request being submitted at a Committee meeting

 

17    CLUB UNIFORM

17.1  The club uniform is approved by the Executive Council. It consists of a breathable orange singlet with black sides and black trim on both arms and neck. Black "Bayswater Bullets" logo on back with same logo but smaller on front left upper side. Black shorts.
