The Cross Country season is between April and early August and is held at different Parks and Reserves within the City of Knox.

It is on each Saturday morning starting at 9:00am and the program takes around two hours with events rotated each week.

Age Group Distance
Under 6 Girls & Boys   500 metres
Under 7 & 8 Girls & Boys 1000 metres
Under 9 & 10 Girls & Boys 1500 metres
Under 11 & 12 Girls & Boys 2000 metres
Under 13-15 & I/A Girls & Boys 3000 metres

For those that registered for the Summer Track and Field season, the Cross Country season is free and will keep you fit for the following season. 

The fee for entering the Cross Country season only is $40 (Under 6 is $25) payable at the Officials tent at the event. The only other cost is a a $5 Trophy club affiliation fee. plus $30 for a Bayswater Bullets team singlet which is only available from our club.

Throughout  the Winter Cross Country season, the results and photos are posted on the Knox Little Athletics Centre website at www.klac23.org.au  

Known results of Bayswater Bullets athletes competing can be found by clicking on the "year" buttons to the left. These are only  updated every few weeks.

If you have any old Cross Country newsletters or results for any missing years, please contact Stephen Egan on the email address below. Missing years are 1970, 1971, 1973 to 1978, 1982, 1983, 1996 and 2000.

Cross Country Open Days

Many Centres, including Knox,  hold Cross Country Open Days throughout the season where athletes from other Centres can enter  to compete for a small cost.

Medals are awarded for first, second and third place and in some Open Days, Team Medals are also awarded. 

A Team consist of the first 3 runners from the same Centre. The position you come in the race is the points you are awarded. The lowest total of 3 runners from the same Centre (ie Knox) is the winner. The 4th, 5th and 6th runners from the same Centre would be a  second team.

If you are entering an Open Day where Team Medals are awarded, contact other Knox members of your age group to also enter to ensure there are at least 3 for a team.

Cross Country Championship Days

During the Cross Country season, there is the Eastern Regional Metropolitan Qualifying and State Championships where the Knox Centre pays the entry fees for all athletes competing.  The Knox Centre uniform is required for these events as shown in the photo above. 

On the Knox Championship Day, there is a fee to enter.
